Matt Younts had eagles on the 1st, 15th and 17th holes to go with 8 birdies on his bogey-free card of 29-29 (14 under par).
The score is the lowest recorded in the current black/gold par-72 configuration.
Highlights included a chip-in eagle from behind the green at No. 1, a 20-foot par putt at the 4th, a 265-yard 3-wood to within four feet to set up an eagle at No. 15 and a 30-foot putt for birdie at No. 16.
Matt had previously shot 61 twice at PPCC.
According to long-time superintendent Chip Caldwell, Carolinas Golf Hall of Famers Clayton Heafner and Billy Joe Patton both shot 15-under-par 59s when the course was playing to a par of 74.
